From Your Family to Our Shelves
We’re thrilled to bring back Baker Celebration Books — a wonderful way to honor your child while helping our school library grow! Since starting in 2022, over 120 books have been donated to Baker’s library!
At any time during the year, you can celebrate a special memory or milestone by donating a book to the Baker Library in your child’s name. It’s a thoughtful gift that will be enjoyed by students for years to come — and it can come from you, a grandparent, or any family member or friend who wants to celebrate your child.
Thank you for supporting the Baker Library and helping us share the joy of reading across our school community!
How it works:
- Choose a book: Visit this Amazon list to browse titles that would make great additions to the Baker Library. Please only choose from the Amazon list. If you have a suggestion for another book, please check with Mrs. Connor before purchasing the book.
- Purchase your book: Buy your selected title through Amazon or your preferred retailer. You can ship it directly to Baker Elementary School, Attn: Library, 2300 Morton Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241, or drop it off at the Baker Main Office.
- Send us your celebration details: Email Committee Chair Diana Slanders at bakercelebrationbooks@gmail.
com with the book title, the giver’s name, your child’s name, and the reason for the celebration. (Feel free to personalize what you’d like included — this information will appear on a special bookplate inside the book.)
Once received, Mrs. Connor will process the book, add the bookplate, and share it with your child during their next scheduled Library Special. Best of all, your child will be the very first Baker student to check it out!
